So, you subsequently decided to start your CCNA certification journey, or at least you’re leaning that manner. Lots of people start this journey every month, and they all need to get through some basic questions. What is the starting point? What Cisco certifications can I start with to get CCNA certified? What do I have to do to pass CCNA exam? What specific steps, and tools, will I need? How much time will it take? How much will it cost?
Today, I’ll start to break down some of these questions.

How to get certified?

CISCO offers five levels of network certification: Entry, Associate, Professional, Expert, and Architect. In order to get certified, you have to start with entry-level certification i.e, CCENT & CCT. Both the CCENT and the CCT certifications serve as starting points for individuals interested in starting a career as a networking professional.
For getting CCNA certification, a person must pass specific exams related to that certification. They can obtain the passing grades on either:

1: ICDN1 (100-101)- This exam consists of between 40 to 50 questions, and a person has 90 minutes to complete it

2: ICDN2 (200-101) Exams- This exam consists of 40 to 50 questions with a time limit of between 75 and 90 minutes

3: Combined CCNA (200-120) Exam- This exam consists of 45 to 55 questions and has a 90-minute time limit

In order to pass the exams, the candidate will need to score 80% or above.

Registration for these exams can be done through Cisco directly or with the help of Pearson Vue.
It is the authorized testing partner to conduct CCNA certification exams. You have to register for the test at least 2 days before the exam date as the slots are limited and are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration can be done by phone or online. Payment for the tests is due when registering for them. It is recommended to arrive at the testing location for the test at least 45 minutes ahead of time.

What if one fails to pass the exam in one go?

There are no limits on the number of times that a person can take the test. Hence, it is important to practice with a good partner like Networkers Guru.

How To Prepare For CCNA?

Make a plan for study: Just make a plan for your study. The CCNA certification has a proper syllabus, and you have to cover all the topics before the exam. Limit your studies to whatever is there in the syllabus. Do not waste time on the extra information.

• Time Management: Time management is needed when you prepare for the exam and when you take it. Decide a regular study time and hold to it every day.

Think Practically: Simply learning the theory given in the syllabus does not help you in the exam. To get a good score, you may guess how things are managed in Cisco. It is often seen that how Cisco works is different from the general working of networks.

Once set up, make sure that you practice enough to be thorough with the learning. Just studying the topics do not work for CCNA certificate. Practice and theory are two different things and only books will not give you the correct results. When you do practical work, you discover a lot of things for yourselves which no book can offer.
Networkers Guru is the leader in Cisco training and a leading IT Certification training institute offers 24×7 Lab facility to its students. Once a person has obtained the CCNA certification, they need to ensure that they put the acquired skill to test in day-to-day activities. Given the strong competition in the IT networking field, the only way to stand out from the crowd and get your resume noticed is with a professional certification.
